The pear shaped body is one with hips being wider than the shoulders and things that are round. Choosing fashions that show a shapely waist can take care of all those things. This body type should wear A-line skirts that end at the knee since this will hide the hips.
For pants, they should begin just below the natural waist and a bootcut or even straight leg is advisable. Cargo pockets will only make for bigger legs. As for shorts, anything loose fitting for workouts of course, otherwise pick ones with slimming side stripes.
Tops should not be to baggy because you will look bigger all over and to tight, throws you out of proportion. Top should be fitting but not skin tight and choose V-necks and button up tops. Any jacket or coat you wear should never stop at your widest point, meaning not a the thigh. Pick a waist coat or a longer coat that ends near you knees. And keep them open as this will also create a long look.
