Petite

Trendy short dresses do well. Avoid wearing over-sized dresses because they will swallow your figure. You don’t want to hide your little-figure. Try not to wear too many belts that fit right at the waist if you have a short mid-section. This will cut you in half. If you have to wear a belt to complete your look, then wear a loose one and let it hang a little in a V-shape.

Larger Waist

Choose a dress that will lower or even hide the waistline. A dress that drops the waist down to the hips or one that has no waist and is a little loose will work well for you.

Big Arms

Wear sleeves that are a little puffed or lantern shaped. Don’t choose a tight sleeve fitted dresses. If you want short sleeves, make sure they are loose and hang petal-like. This will help disguise the flabby under-arm area.

Wide Shoulders

Avoid puffy sleeves. Big broad tops with narrow skirts will really accentuate those shoulders, and you don’t want that. Padded shoulders can give you a football player effect. Look for details in the dresses that balance the upper and lower parts of the body. Rounded necklines will soften the shoulder area.

Unattractive Legs

If you feel you have unattractive legs, then wear a bit longer dress. Wear dresses that are mid-calved or longer. Dresses with lacy bottom halves are nice. Wear boots sometimes with your long dresses too.

Large Bust

Do not wear form-fitting tops if you want to tone down the upper area. Loose necklines that drape downward or are v-shaped would be the most flattering. Just as the wide-shouldered concern, choose body-balancing details in the dress.

Small Bust

Find dresses that have more upper detail or have added features like bows if you want more volume in the chest area. But really, dresses hang better on women with smaller busts.

Big Hips & Thighs

You want to wear silky, soft, skirts that just skim over the bottom half. Avoid tight bottom dresses. The top area should be open or have a print or shape that just pops out. This will draw more attention to shoulders, neck, and face.
