Keep it Classy

Keep it Classy

There’s really no easy way of saying it, but there’s just a little bit more of class associated with wearing designer clothes. It’s probably just a psychological issue, but designer wear immediately looks cleaner, prettier and sharper than potentially the same kind of clothing without the label. For many people, parents of teenage children especially, this is seen as only a matter of price tag. But anyone that is in the fashion industry will tell you that a label is more than a name, it’s a statement.

Behind a label there is a great marketing process and behind that is the vision of a designer or a brand. To reduce all of that to a simple matter of money is to mock the work of all of those people. For example, Lacoste has for years been a symbol of class. It’s not because it’s expensive, but because of the quality of the product and what people think about when they see it. It’s a lot like cars, for example. To have a Volvo is a symbol of wealth and that you prize safety and comfort. You can buy a Mazda for an equivalent price, but it will say something entirely different about you.
